Galakata Mosque is located on Barobazar-Taherpur road. The square of the main six-cornered large thick pillar is standing and every arm is 25 feet long and the wall is 5 feet wide. There are 3 entrance doors in it. The east side of the mosque had a rugged compound. Inside the wall on the west there are 3 mehrabas, there are designs of terracotta crafts, flowers, spinach, hours, chains etc. Two pillars of black stone 8 feet high are rooftop pillars. There are 6 medium-sized dome behind the pillars. They were found here during the excavation of some of the stones written in Arabic-Persian of 800-AH during the period of Shah Sultan Mahmood bin Hussein. The mosque has a similarity with Gaur Dhokikak and Jhanjhania Mosque, Baba Adam Mosque of Dhaka Rampal, Shahi Mosque of Shailkupar and the sixty Dome Mosque of Bagerhat. Glacca mosque, rich in Islamic architecture, has enriched the archaeological heritage of Bangladesh.
Galakata Dighi is located beside the Galakata mosque. Khan Jahan Ali (R) is a contemporary of the Dighi that is very popular. This dighi is located on twelve bighas of land along the four sides of the river. Galakta Mosque at the south bank of the Dighi There is a small mound on the west bank of the dighi.
