Number and composition of Union Parishad
There are 67 union parishads in Jhenaidah district. Among them, Jhenaidah Sadar upazila (17), Kaliganj upazila (11), Kotchandpur upazila (5), Maheshpur upazila (12), Shailkupa upazila (14) and Harinakundu upazila (8) union parishad.
The Union Parishad consists of 1 chairman, 3 female members and 9 members.
Activities
In the light of the Local Government (Union Council) Ordinance, 2008
1. The main functions of the European Union are as follows:
(A) Administration and Establishment matters
(B) Public order protection
(C) Public welfare related services and
(D) Planning and implementation of local economic and social development related schemes
2. The above-mentioned headquarters is divided into two categories: *
(1) Five-day and various periodic development plans.
(Ii) Development, conservation and maintenance of rural infrastructure.
(3) Implementation of education, health, family planning related activities.
(4) Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock and Other Economic Development Programs.
(5) To take necessary actions in the control of epidemic and disaster management.
(6) Assessment and collection of taxes, fees, tolls, fees etc.
(7) Removal of family disputes, related activities related to women and child welfare.
(8) Cooperation in taking necessary initiatives in activities such as sports, social development, culture etc.
(9) Take necessary measures for the development and conservation of the environment.
